New activity

In the last summer, I went to Australia to participate in the Rites of Passage, a programme provided by the school to let us develop personally, in terms of the SPCC student profile.

In the programme, we participated in many activities to step out of our comfort zone to be more courageous, several of which we have never participated in before. One of such activities is mountain biking.

In the activity, we had to first familiarize ourselves with the bike, then do some challenging exercise: one of them requires us to find a partner, get on our bike side-by-side, and one of the pair had to let go of the grip and hold the partner’s back, and finally, we had to ride in this pose to go down a ramp. Although many of us crashed, we were still very excited to continue riding the bike.

Later,  we went on a ‘journey ‘ on our bike. We first went down a hill, then we went up another ramp, and descended down a slope, went on a lakeside path, and eventually went back the way we came.

Of particular note is that when we arrived on the orange spot on the map, a large crowd of cows, for no apparent reason, charged at us. Fortunately, our camp dog, Bomber, chased them away.

In conclusion, it had been a very fun experience for my first time on a mountain bike, and I hope to do it again in the future.
